Can Ketamine Coaching Help Me Make a Major Life Decision?

You have worked hard to build the life you have.

The career. The relationships. The responsibilities. The accomplishments that once seemed so far away.

And now you are questioning something you never expected to question.

Maybe you are considering leaving a career you have spent decades building. Your relationship no longer feels the way it once did. You are thinking about relocating, retiring, starting a business, or stepping into a new chapter that you cannot quite imagine yet.

Or perhaps nothing is obviously wrong.

Your life looks successful. You have achieved what you set out to accomplish.

Yet something keeps asking for your attention.

Is this still the life I want?

If you are accustomed to solving problems and making decisions, not knowing what comes next can be deeply uncomfortable.

You may be wondering whether ketamine can help you make a big life decision.

Ketamine cannot tell you which decision is right. A ketamine journey may offer a different perspective on the beliefs, values, emotions, and possibilities surrounding your decision. Through Conscious Ketamine-Assisted Coaching®, we can explore what you discover and how it connects to the life you want to create.

But I want to ask you something.

Are you waiting to feel certain before you let yourself decide?

Certainty may never arrive, and you can still choose well.

And that may be an important place for us to begin.

Why Are Major Life Decisions So Challenging, Even When My Life Looks Successful?

Every major life decision brings uncertainty. I have spent more than 25 years coaching high-achieving professionals through personal and professional challenges, with more than 4,000 individual coaching sessions.

One thing I know from that experience is that being successful does not mean you always know what you want.

Sometimes the qualities that helped you achieve so much can make change particularly difficult.

You know how to evaluate risks.

You know how to create a plan.

You know how to take responsibility and follow through, even when things are difficult.

But what happens when the question becomes about what you actually want?

Imagine you have spent twenty years building a successful career.

You have the title, the income, and the reputation you worked so hard to achieve.

And you are no longer happy.

You think about leaving, but every time you consider it, you find another reason to stay.

Maybe you are concerned about financial security.

Maybe you cannot imagine yourself without your professional identity.

Maybe you believe leaving would mean everything you worked for was a mistake.

Or maybe you are simply exhausted and need something to change.

I would want to explore which of those is true with you.

Because what looks like a career decision may involve questions about identity, expectations, security, freedom, and the meaning of success.

And sometimes the most important question is whether you are still choosing this life because you want it, or because you have become very good at living it.

Can Ketamine Help Me See My Life From a Different Perspective?

It may.

During a ketamine journey, some people experience familiar thoughts, emotions, memories, or situations differently.

You might notice something you have been overlooking.

A belief you have carried for years may become something you are willing to question.

A possibility you dismissed may suddenly feel worth considering.

You might recognize how much energy you have been spending trying to maintain something that no longer feels right.

Or you may discover that what you thought needed to change is not actually the problem.

I want to be clear about something.

A different perspective is not automatically a more accurate one.

An experience can feel deeply meaningful without being a fact, a prediction, or an instruction.

And not every ketamine journey produces a recognizable insight.

Research into people's subjective experiences with ketamine has documented how varied and complex those experiences can be. It has not established that ketamine helps people make better major life decisions.

That is an important distinction.

I am interested in what you notice.

What surprised you?

What felt different?

Did something bring up a question you have been avoiding?

Does it connect with something happening in your everyday life?

And when you return to that experience later, does it still feel important?

I help you explore what it means to you.

What If I Already Know What I Want but Am Afraid to Make the Change?

Then I might ask what is keeping you from choosing it.

Sometimes hesitation is wise.

You may need more information, more support, or more time to consider the consequences of a decision.

But sometimes you know what you want, and your everyday choices are taking you further away from it.

That is something worth examining.

Perhaps you tell me that spending time with your family matters more than anything else.

But you continue accepting every professional responsibility that comes your way.

Perhaps you say you want more freedom, yet every decision you make is based on what other people expect from you.

Or perhaps you are ready for a new chapter, but you keep measuring your future against the goals you set for yourself twenty years ago.

There may be very good reasons for those choices.

I am interested in understanding them with you.

What are you protecting?

What do you believe might happen if you choose differently?

Whose expectations are influencing you?

What are you continuing to do because it has become familiar?

And is that still what you want?

Sometimes I may gently challenge you when I notice a difference between what you say matters and the choices you are making, to help you hear yourself more clearly.

Recognizing a pattern is the first step. Choosing whether and how to change it comes next.

That is where our work can become especially meaningful.

How Does Conscious Ketamine-Assisted Coaching® Help With Major Life Decisions?

I created The Conscious Ketamine® Coaching Method because I believe the ketamine experience is only one part of meaningful personal change.

My approach brings together intentional preparation, grounded and compassionate presence during your ketamine journey, and structured integration coaching afterward.

I call this the 10/90 Rule.

Ketamine Is 10 Percent. Preparation and Integration Are the Other 90.

This is my coaching philosophy, not a scientific measurement of ketamine's effects.

It reflects something I have learned throughout my coaching career.

A meaningful realization does not automatically change the way you live.

You have to decide what you want to do with it.

Preparation: Understanding What You Want to Explore

Before your journey, we talk about what brings you to this crossroads.

Perhaps you are considering a career change.

We might explore what you want to understand about your relationship with work.

What feels out of alignment?

What still matters to you?

What have you stopped making room for?

What are you hoping will be different?

We develop an intention.

You can arrive with meaningful questions and remain open to discovering something unexpected.

During Your Ketamine Journey: Being Present With Your Experience

During your ketamine journey, I am physically present with you, offering compassionate coaching support while your licensed medical provider remains responsible for your medical care.

You do not need to figure everything out while you are there.

You do not need to force a breakthrough or remember every thought.

When you speak, I take notes on your words so we can revisit them together afterward.

Sometimes something you say may become important during integration coaching.

Sometimes it may not.

You get to decide what deserves further exploration.

My role is to help create a space where you feel safe, held, and fully seen.

Integration Coaching: Exploring What Your Experience Means for Your Life

This is where the other 90 percent becomes so important.

You return to your everyday responsibilities.

The career, relationship, financial considerations, and practical circumstances surrounding your decision are still there.

But perhaps you are bringing a different perspective back with you.

Now we have something to explore.

Imagine that during your journey, you experienced a powerful sense of freedom.

You initially think that means you should leave your job.

I might ask what freedom represents to you.

Is it freedom from your career?

Freedom from always having to perform?

Freedom to spend more time with your family?

Freedom to be creative?

Freedom from expectations you have placed on yourself?

Those questions may lead us in very different directions.

Perhaps you eventually decide to change careers.

Perhaps you recognize that you want to establish boundaries or change how you approach your current work.

Perhaps you need more information before deciding anything.

The purpose of integration coaching is to help you understand what deserves your attention and explore how you want to carry that awareness into your life.

You can learn more about this process in my article, What Is Ketamine Integration Coaching and Why Does It Matter?.

How Do I Carry What I Realize Into My Everyday Life After a Ketamine Journey?

This may be one of the most important parts of our work together.

Imagine that during your journey, you recognize how much you need time for yourself.

You leave feeling committed to making that time a priority.

Then Monday arrives.

Your phone starts ringing.

A client needs something urgently.

Someone asks you for a favor.

Another responsibility lands on your desk.

And before you know it, you have said yes to everything again.

The insight was meaningful.

Insight has a shelf life.

This is why I place so much importance on integration coaching.

We can explore what happened when you returned to that familiar situation.

What made saying yes feel automatic?

What did you believe would happen if you said no?

What might a different response look like?

What would help you practice that response the next time?

Perhaps you begin pausing before accepting another commitment.

Perhaps you have an honest conversation about your availability.

Perhaps you recognize that you have been trying to meet an expectation you no longer agree with.

These may seem like small changes.

Meaningful change often begins when you find yourself in a familiar situation and make a different choice.

The insight gives us something to explore. Your everyday choices are where that exploration can become part of your life.

Can Ketamine Coaching Help With Career, Relationship, Relocation, or Identity Decisions?

These decisions may look different, but they often raise similar questions about what matters to you and who you are becoming.

  • Career transitions: Are you ready for a different professional direction, or do you want to change the way you are living and working now?
  • Relationships: What do you need? What patterns do you notice? What conversations or boundaries deserve your attention?
  • Relocation: What draws you toward a new place? What are you hoping to create or experience there?
  • Retirement: Who are you when your professional responsibilities no longer organize your days?
  • Identity and purpose: What happens when the person you have become no longer feels fully connected to the person you want to be?
  • Beginning a new chapter: What possibilities have you stopped considering because they do not fit the plan you made years ago?

I can help you explore the questions.

And when a decision involves financial, legal, medical, or relationship concerns, I encourage you to involve the appropriate professionals.

Coaching can support personal reflection. It does not replace the expertise needed to evaluate every practical part of a major decision.

What If My Ketamine Journey Makes Me Feel Certain About a Decision?

Then we have something worth exploring.

But that does not mean you need to act immediately.

A ketamine experience can feel powerful. A realization may seem unusually clear or convincing.

You might leave feeling certain that you need to quit your job, end a relationship, or make a major change.

I would encourage you to give that experience some room before making an irreversible decision.

Once the effects of the therapeutic ketamine have passed, we can explore what came up for you.

Does it still resonate?

What practical circumstances need to be considered?

Is there another way to understand what you experienced?

What information would help you make a thoughtful decision?

Could you take a small step toward exploring the possibility without committing to the entire change?

You can take an experience seriously and gather more information before you act.

You are allowed to be curious before you are certain.

What If I Do Not Know What I Want Next?

You may be at a point in your life when the old goals no longer feel as important, but you have not yet discovered what will take their place.

That can be unsettling.

Especially if you are someone who has always known the next step.

The next promotion.

The next project.

The next responsibility.

The next achievement.

You may be tempted to immediately replace your old goals with new ones.

But I would invite you to consider whether you need another goal right now.

What if you first explored what matters to you at this stage of your life?

What feels fulfilling?

What feels complete?

What do you want more of?

What have you been doing simply because you have always done it?

And what might you be ready to experience differently?

You do not have to know the answer before we begin.

Sometimes the most meaningful work begins with being willing to ask a question you have never given yourself permission to consider.

Frequently Asked Questions About Ketamine Coaching and Major Life Decisions

Can ketamine help me make a big life decision?

Ketamine may offer a different subjective perspective on the thoughts, emotions, values, and possibilities surrounding a major life decision. However, research has not established that ketamine improves decision quality. In my coaching, I help you explore what you discover through preparation and integration coaching, and the decision remains yours.

Can ketamine coaching help me decide whether to quit my job?

In my coaching, I help you reflect on professional fulfillment, identity, personal values, and career possibilities. I cannot determine whether quitting your job is the right choice. Through integration coaching, we can explore what matters to you and what practical next steps deserve consideration.

Can ketamine coaching help with relationship decisions?

In my coaching, I help you explore your needs, boundaries, expectations, and personal patterns within a relationship. I do not tell you whether to stay or leave, and coaching does not replace licensed relationship or mental health care when those services are appropriate.

Should I make a major decision immediately after a ketamine journey?

Do not make major decisions while impaired by ketamine. Follow your medical provider's recovery instructions, and allow time to reflect on any insights before making consequential choices. Consider the practical implications and seek professional guidance when needed.

What is Bronwyn Davis's 10/90 Rule?

The 10/90 Rule is my coaching philosophy within The Conscious Ketamine® Coaching Method. I describe ketamine as 10 percent of the process, with preparation and integration coaching representing the other 90 percent. My emphasis is on preparing thoughtfully and bringing meaningful discoveries into everyday choices and actions.

Will Bronwyn tell me what my ketamine experience means?

No. I do not assign interpretations to your experiences or make decisions for you. I listen, ask thoughtful questions, challenge assumptions when appropriate, and help you explore what you want to do with what you discovered.

What If the Next Chapter Begins With a Different Question?

You have probably spent much of your life learning how to make things happen.

You set goals.

You solve problems.

You make decisions.

You take responsibility.

And those abilities have served you well.

But I want to leave you with something to consider.

What if the next chapter of your life is asking you to become more honest about what matters to you?

You may discover that you want to make a significant change.

You may realize that you want to approach your current life differently.

Perhaps something you believed about yourself no longer feels true.

Or perhaps you simply need more time.

You do not have to abandon everything you have built to explore those possibilities.

But you do deserve to ask whether the choices you are making today still reflect the life you want.

After more than 25 years of coaching high-impact professionals, I know that understanding something about yourself is the beginning, and choosing to live differently is the work that follows.

That is where preparation, reflection, and integration coaching become meaningful.

Ketamine may offer an opening.

My role is to help you hear yourself more clearly, explore what you discover, and consider how you want to carry that awareness into your life.

Ketamine does not make the decision for you, and neither do I.

The choice remains yours.

And I want you to be able to recognize yourself in the life you choose.
